Decision Criteria:

FDA-Cleared (510k): This indicates whether or not the PRP device is cleared by the FDA to use for processing PRP from a blood sample. Using a kit that is not cleared can be a risk to your medical license and malpractice coverage.

Platelet Recovery Percentage: This number represent the portion of platelets in the plasma recovered from the whole blood sample. In most cases, higher percentages equate to higher efficacy of the PRP.

pH: Having a pH that is close to the physiological pH (7.35) has advantages in comfort and platelet aggregation. At pH 6.8, platelet aggregation is reduced by >50%. Additionally, more acidic PRP 7.1-7.2 pH will burn slightly. PRP with a pH of ≤ 7.0 will cause significant discomfort.

Leukocyte Rich or Poor: Leukocyte Rich PRP will have a significant amount of white blood cells, triggering immune responses and inflammation. Ultimately causing your patient unnecessary discomfort.
